My Title Year

Here is a brief over view of all the events I have done this year. Sorry men been very busy and have not had a chance to post them on my blog. It has been a great whirlwind year and I am glad I was a big part in helping my Leather brothers and sisters.

In January 2012, went to Mr Blue Grass Leather contest. Always have a blast when I get to see old friends and make some new ones.

March 2012 attended the Mr. Missouri Leather contest. I had the pleasure to meet Tyler McCormick at Bad Dogs Bar and Grill. It was a very interesting and fun evening.

Mar 2012 Went to Des Moines, IA helped with a fundraiser for Mr. Iowa (Jeremy Morris)

April 2012 Went to Madison, WI to help with a fundraiser for Mr. Northwood’s (Jeff Gruenberger)
April 2012 Went to CLAW in Cleveland Ohio. I have to say I was taken back when I received the CLAW nation Spirit Award. I feel so proud to be part of the CLAW family and working for so many wonderful charitable organizations. Seeing and meeting so many leather folk is always a pleasure and I am glad I got to spend some time with them. As I have heard someone say "Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family. Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one."

April 2012 Helped with a fundraiser, A Tasteful Affair, for Doorways of St Louis, MO. It was a great weekend with the CLAW nation party and then Mike Lunter 's fundraiser.
Jan 2011 CLAWnation party Owensboro, KY raised $662.00 for the Aids task force. Had a great turn out for a little town and their first Leather function. It was very well received and the bar was packed. With raffles and prizes. Equals bar was so graceful to donate all the proceeds from the door.

MAL 2012

I went to MAL this year and could hardly contain myself.  I always get excited when attending a leather event, esp something of this magnitude.  This was my first time attending MAL and it will not be my last.  Yes, I was a MAL virgin!

I finally met the people I had chatted with on facebook face to face.  Trust me people the pictures do not do them justice, and they are very friendly.  It was as if we had known each other for years.

Here we have Mr Missouri Leather, Mr Iowa Leather, Mr Minneapolis Leather, Mr Midwest Leather (myself), and Mr Chicago Leather.  We decided to do a pic of the leathermen of Midwest, even though not all were in attendance.

I was very excited to meet the current IML winner Eric Guttierez.  He was very friendly and answered many questions about his current year activities. He spoke of the excitement of traveling, meeting new people, and the leather community as a whole.

Dirty Santas in Kansas City, Mo. Dec 2011

Mr. Iowa Leather, Mr Missouri Leather, and my self, Mr. Midwest Leather all went in support of the KC Pioneers christmas party and fundraiser.  We raised money by people having their photos taken with DIRTY SANTAS in whatever fashion they so desired.

The pioneers were the greatest and treated us like kings.

Mr Bluegrass Leather Oct 2011

Went to Lexington KY for the Mr Blue Grass Leather contest, and had a blast! The bar was packed with everyone having a good time and waiting for the winner to emerge.

The contestants were all having a good time on stage, competing for the title. Sam Clements out shined them all and won. I was there to help support by doing root to boot tickets, and half the money we took in went to support Mr Blue Grass Leather.

Winning (not like Charlie Sheen)

On Sept. 30th and Oct 1st I entered the Mr Midwest Leather contest, and what do you know I WON!  I was very excited about this and a little nervous.  I take this very seriously.  Winning is not about (as some people say) about fame, but what more can you do for our community.  I had a great time competing.  The other 2 contestants kept me laughing in the dressing room so I was not as nervous as I thought I would be.

As far as my next step as Mr Midwest I will be attending the Mr Bluegrass Leather contest in Lexington, Ky.  It promises to be a good weekend.  After that I will be selling shots at Bad Dogs for the Bear Hibernation weekend in St Louis.

I will keep posted as to where I will be and what I will be doing with/for the community.  Please remember to VOTE as only you can help make the changes we so desperately need.
